3 Tips to Lose Weight without Deprivation

Let’s face it, a lot of us are on the same weight loss boat.  Shedding those last stubborn pounds is tough. We have a few tips that are not only effective but don’t require massive lifestyle changes that can be hard to maintain.

Lose weight without dramatic lifestyle changes

1. Be a morning person!  Research from Northwestern University School of Medicine found that people who get most of their Vitamin D in the morning (between 8 a.m. and noon) had lower Body Mass Indexes than those who got their fresh air later in the day.

2. Give yourself a day of indulgence!  Weight fluctuation is normal, especially gaining a bit over the weekend.  Brian Wansink, Ph.D. counsels not to beat yourself up, but to enjoy what you eat.  He says people achieve their weight loss during the weekdays. Basically, as long as you tighten up your diet on weekdays, you can indulge in a slice of New York cheesecake on Saturday night.

3. Get inspired and stay inspired. When trying to lose weight, it can be hard to stay on track. (Grrr! Why do chocolate eclairs even exist?)  Connect with a supportive community through social media.  There are plenty of groups to join, pages to like and people to follow to help you stay the course.  Reading about what worked for others can help you achieve your weight loss goals!
