Meet the Medicine BallPosted on December 14, 2015
In the fitness world, there are so many new tools that help us get to where we want to be. However, too many options can sometimes be overwhelming. Today, we are going to bring it in and focus on one specific tool: the medicine ball. We love it because it’s so versatile, it can be used to workout virtually all parts of the body, and it is a serious tool that even the best of the best use to get and stay fit.
What do I do with the medicine ball?
We did some digging and we found three great articles on the medicine ball with plenty of info, tips, and exercises that all involve this wonder ball. So whether you’re a competitive athlete-in-training or just someone trying to keep those holiday calories at bay, check these out!
- Ella Damiani wrote, “Four Medicine Ball Workouts to do Almost Anywhere.” Just her title brings up a great point. Sure, some of the exercises mentioned call for a wall to throw your new toy against, but still, unlike a lot of general workout equipment, you can take the medicine ball to a lot of places. Have some fun with it outdoors in the park, find an open parking lot and get sweating on the pavement, or hey, even have a one on one with it in the comfort of your own home!
- “Medicine Ball Workout: 9 Moves to Tone Every Inch” is an article in Shape Magazine by Jessica Smith. Again, the title says it all. A great perk to the medicine ball is that it can work out every inch of your body…if you just know how to use it. Even if you are familiar with the medicine ball, reading articles like this can be a great way to find new exciting workouts for the same ol’ ball. Keep your workouts fresh and give it skim!
- Dan wiederer gives us an ultimate medicine ball workout that is so effective, the University of North Carolina strength and conditioning coach, Jonas Sahratian, uses it to train the Tar Heels. This just goes to show you, the medicine ball ain’t kidding around. This article is also great because it utilizes clear and concise videos and charts to look to for guidance on each exercise that it lists. With such great fitness information and explanations at your fingertips, you now have no excuse not to take that heavy workout ball for a dance!
